St Luke’s Marsh
“There will be no hunting permitted along St. Luke’s shoreline during the 2026 hunting season due to active invasive Phragmites australis control and construction.”
A coastal gem, protected forever by Ducks Unlimited Canada.
These coastal wetlands in Ontario's southwest are not only rare but also highly valuable. With only 1.5% of historic wetlands remaining in the densely populated Lake St. Clair area, the acquisition of St. Luke's Marsh by Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) and their partners has ensured the preservation of a vital sanctuary for wildlife in the region and nearly 500 acres (197 hectares) of precious natural habitat.
Dedicated to wetland and waterfowl conservation
With the property under the stewardship of Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), protecting the delicate ecosystems, while providing recreational opportunities to visitors is an on-going balancing act. Starting in September 2026, DUC is undertaking a five-year restoration project to enhance the resiliency of this vital coastal marsh complex.
While hunting is permitted in specific areas, we ask that you please respect and follow the rules and regulations set out to protect the landscape for years to come. Please be advised that there will be no hunting permitted along St. Luke’s shoreline during the 2026 hunting season due to active invasive Phragmites australis control and construction.
